Hero Brain Health delivers proven eTMS care, tracking outcomes to ensure transparency, trust, and measurable results.
Hero Brain Health is committed to delivering evidence-based treatment and being transparent about our outcomes. We don’t just promise results – we measure them, document them, and hold ourselves accountable to the highest standards of care. Below you’ll find data from clinical research and statewide pilot programs that underscore the effectiveness of our eTMS approach. We’re proud to share this evidence because we want you, as well as medical professionals and policymakers, to have confidence in the impact of our program.
In one of the first studies of EEG-guided magnetic stimulation for PTSD, 16 combat veterans saw their PTSD severity scores drop by an average of 42% in just two weeks of treatment. Specifically, their Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder Checklist (PCL) scores went from ~55 before treatment to ~32 after treatment (a clinically significant improvement). Every single patient in that trial improved to some degree, and the researchers noted concurrent changes in brainwave patterns towards normal ranges – objective evidence that the brain was healing. This pioneering study, led by neuroscientist Alexander Taghva in 2015, helped lay the groundwork for our therapy, showing that personalized magnetic stimulation can achieve substantial relief for PTSD when conventional therapies fall short.
Newer research with active-duty and veteran special operations personnel has reinforced these impressive outcomes. For example, a 2024 study of active-duty Special Operations Forces members (conducted in collaboration with U.S. Air Force Special Operations Command) reported a 37% average reduction in PTSD symptom severity after completing an eTMS treatment protocol. In a similar 2025 review focusing on Special Ops veterans, 69% of those who started with severe PTSD (PCL-5 scores above the VA’s threshold) no longer met the clinical criteria for PTSD after eTMS therapy. In other words, their symptoms improved so much that a majority of these warfighters could essentially put the PTSD diagnosis behind them. These outcomes were achieved without any serious side effects – the only side effects reported were those common to standard TMS (mostly mild headaches or fatigue). Such findings are remarkable for a population that often has treatment-resistant conditions, and it speaks to the power of personalized neuromodulation.

The state of Ohio was one of the first to deploy eTMS on a large scale for its veterans and first responders, and the results have been closely tracked. To date, over 800 individuals have received eTMS treatment through the Ohio pilot, which began in 2021. According to testimony presented to the Ohio Senate, those patients experienced significant improvements in sleep quality and marked reductions in PTSD and depression symptoms on objective scales. In fact, Ohio set up a real-time data dashboard (run by the Department of Mental Health & Addiction Services) to collect outcomes – and as of early 2025, over 4,000 clinical data points have been gathered, showing consistent symptom reduction across the board. This transparency is a model for how we at Hero Brain Health plan to operate as well. We continually gather outcome metrics (like PCL-5 for PTSD, PHQ-9 for depression, GAD-7 for anxiety, etc.) to ensure our treatments are effective. The Ohio program’s success also led the state legislature to move from a pilot to a fully funded ongoing program – a testament to the confidence gained from the data. We are proud to base our Massachusetts program on the same evidence-backed protocols used in Ohio.
States like Florida and Missouri have launched similar initiatives with equally promising results, demonstrating that this model is scalable and repeatable. In Florida, a network of eTMS clinics has been established statewide (in Miami, Orlando, Tampa, Jacksonville, etc.), and they have provided free treatment to about 1,000 veterans and first responders over the past five years. Media reports and patient testimonials from these clinics frequently highlight dramatic improvements – from better sleep to reduced anxiety – that have given people their lives back. Missouri’s program, which opened its first clinics in 2023 with state funding, publicly reported that 85–90% of treated individuals show measurable improvement, with overall symptom severity decreasing by roughly 55–70% on average. These numbers are truly extraordinary in the mental health field. For comparison, standard treatments like medication or talk therapy often yield improvement rates in the range of 20–30% for PTSD – whereas eTMS in Missouri is seeing well over half of symptoms alleviated on average. Such real-world data not only validate our approach but also inspire confidence that Hero Brain Health can achieve similar outcomes for our New England patient community.
We believe that what gets measured gets improved. Hero Brain Health has implemented rigorous outcome monitoring from day one. When you enroll in our program, we will seek your consent to track your progress with validated questionnaires at baseline, mid-treatment, and post-treatment, as well as optional follow-ups at intervals after treatment. By aggregating this anonymous data, we aim to contribute to the growing body of evidence supporting eTMS. We share de-identified results with our partners and funders to demonstrate accountability. If something isn’t working as expected, we want to know it and adjust. Thus far, however, the data have been overwhelmingly positive. Even so, we remain committed to full transparency – whether through publishing our outcomes on this website or collaborating in formal research studies. We understand that veterans, donors, and policymakers rightfully demand proof; providing that proof is a cornerstone of our mission. Our ultimate goal is to make eTMS an accepted, mainstream treatment covered by insurance and government programs, so that every veteran or first responder in need can access it. The first step toward that goal is solid data and honest reporting, which you will always get from Hero Brain Health.
Faster and greater symptom relief compared to standard care, high responder rates (over 80% in multiple programs), and life-changing outcomes documented in both scientific literature and personal stories. Hero Brain Health stands by these findings and will continue to hold ourselves to the highest standards of clinical accountability.
